Dr. Erica Brecher is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Health and Societies. She then received her DMD, cum laude, from Tufts University, and following dental school, Dr. Brecher completed her specialty training and MS in pediatric dentistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her training, Dr. Brecher completed her master’s thesis with Dr. Keels. Their research on emergency dental care was nationally recognized by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

 

Before returning to the Triangle to call Durham home, Dr. Brecher was an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Dr. Brecher is an active member of the local and national pediatric dental communities and remains engaged in research and scholarly activities. She has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. In additional to being a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she has academic affiliations as Duke and UNC. Dr. Brecher looks forward to providing the best oral healthcare for your children. She cares deeply about the connection between oral health and overall health, and the importance of developing long-lasting relationships with her patients.

 

In her free time, Dr. Brecher enjoys running and is an active member of the Bull City Track Club. You will often find her and her husband, Brad, running along the American Tobacco Trail and competing in races locally and beyond. She has completed over 15 marathons, including 6 Boston Marathons, Berlin, and Chicago. On her bucket list is to complete all 6 World Major Marathons. Dr. Brecher and her husband welcomed their daughter in 2020 and are excited to raise their family in such a wonderful community.
